Web map and app for people who love to explore washington through food

Washington Hometown is currently working on our next generation of apps and web maps. Each set will be tailored to a specific activity and will have all the information you need to know. We will be launching selected apps in 2019 and early 2020.

One of the sets we are planning to release is for people who love to explore Washington through its food. These maps will focus on vinyards, wineries, breweries, distilleries, farmers markets, farm-to-table restaurants and craft food producers. It will include suggested tours and other places to stop and things to see so you can make your tour a full adventure.

We will be adding user input to our interactive maps as we prepare to launch the apps. Each app will go into production as soon as we have 1000 people on the mailing list and 100 businesses interested in being on the app or sponsoring it.

food WA suggestions and mailing list

Help us understand what you want in a food toursim map. Some of the questions that will help us make this a better app:

  • What would you like to see: what types of businesses are primary and what other things do you like to do when you are doing a food tourism loop? We are looking both for general suggestions (picnic sites near the driving loop, B&Bs) or specific suggestions (add Snoqualmie Falls as a good stop).

  • What filters do you want to find your destinations?

  • What kinds of businesses (or specific businesses) would you like to see on the app?
